Primary Therapist - Matti's House
Individual therapy, group treatment, and clinical care coordination
$26.00 per hour M–F, 8a–4p 2709 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA
Availability: Full-time weekday openings are available. Specific scheduling details will be confirmed during the hiring process.
The Primary Therapist provides individual and group treatment for residents of Matti's House, a 16-bed Long-Term Structured Residence for adults with serious and persistent mental illness. You will manage an assigned caseload, develop practical recovery goals with residents, and coordinate care with the program's clinical, nursing, psychiatric, and direct-care teams.
What you'll do
- Complete biopsychosocial and other required assessments and maintain an assigned clinical caseload.
- Develop, implement, review, and update individualized treatment plans and measurable recovery goals.
- Provide individual therapy and facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups.
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention and coordinate next steps with nursing, psychiatry, program leadership, and outside providers.
- Maintain accurate and timely assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, reassessments, and transition documentation.
- Coordinate hospital follow-up, community resources, resident benefits, identification, budgeting, and other practical supports when assigned.
- Participate in treatment-team meetings, supervision, utilization review, program meetings, and required training.
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in social work, counseling, psychology, another social science, or a closely related behavioral health field.
- At least three years of mental health experience, including experience providing or facilitating group therapy.
- Strong clinical assessment, crisis-intervention, documentation, organization, communication, and care-coordination skills.
- Ability to engage adults with serious and persistent mental illness and work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
- Meaningful work in a small, team-based residential program.
- Job-related orientation, training, and ongoing support.
