- Performs physical, mechanical, thermal, and rheological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished compounds. Conduct common polymer tests such as:

- Accurately records, analyzes, and reports test results in laboratory information systems and quality databases.
- Provides accurate and timely quality data to support production
- Demonstrates compliance with lab procedures and recordkeeping/documentation requirements.
- Execute accurate calculations and reporting.
- Assists with process trials and customer investigations.
- Calibrates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory instruments and testing equipment.
- Assists with investigations of nonconforming materials and assists with root cause analysis efforts.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping, chemical inventories, and documentation in compliance with safety and quality requirements.
- Adheres to all environmental, health, safety, and quality management systems.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of 6 months work experience in manufacturing lab is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Must demonstrate minimum color aptitude by scoring a 50 or lower using the Farnsworth-Munsell Hue Test. Laboratory Management will also assess results screening for color deficiencies as outlined in the FM-100 test method. One re-test may be permitted.
- Ability to multitask (manage multiple simultaneous samples in organized high quality environment) is required.
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and instructions.
- Basic computer skills using Microsoft applications.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
