We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Associate to join our sales team. In this entry-to-mid-level role, you will play a critical supporting function in driving revenue growth by selling our book and ship products, managing inbound and outbound leads, qualifying opportunities, and preparing high-quality leads for handover to senior Business Development Managers. You will be the frontline executor who helps convert interest into pipeline while ensuring a smooth customer experience from initial contact through order fulfillment and shipping coordination. This is a remote role with extensive travel.
What Will You Do?
Sales Execution & Order Management: Actively sell our core products, book customer orders, process transactions, and coordinate shipping/logistics to ensure timely delivery. Track order status and resolve any fulfillment issues.
- Lead Generation & Follow-Up: Proactively follow up on inbound leads generated from the company website, trade shows, conferences, marketing campaigns, and other channels. Conduct timely outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn.
- Lead Qualification: Assess and qualify leads using established criteria (budget, authority, need, timeline – BANT or similar). Gather key information, answer initial product questions, and determine fit for our solutions.
- Pipeline Handoff: Prepare and transfer qualified leads to Business Development Managers with complete notes, customer insights, and next-step recommendations to enable efficient closing.
- CRM & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system (e.g., Salesforce or equivalent) for all lead activity, interactions, opportunities, and orders. Generate regular activity and pipeline reports.
- Market & Customer Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs. Provide feedback to marketing and product teams to improve lead quality and offerings.
- Support Sales Team: Assist Business Development Managers with administrative tasks, proposal preparation, scheduling meetings, and customer communications as needed.
- Event Support: Help prepare for and follow up after industry conferences, trade shows, and webinars.
Your Experience Should Be...
Experience: 3 years of experience in sales, inside sales, business development, customer service, or lead generation (experience in industrial equipment, packaging, cryogenics, or B2B
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional phone presence.
- Proven ability to qualify leads and manage a high volume of outreach.
- Organized and detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
- Basic understanding of logistics, shipping, and order fulfillment processes.
- Self-motivated with a hunter mentality and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
- Other: Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences or customer visits. Comfortable working with technical products and explaining value propositions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, packaging, or cryogenic/liquid nitrogen solutions.
- Knowledge of trade show lead management and post-event nurturing.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales activity targets (calls, emails, qualified leads).
