What You’ll Do
As a School-Based Licensed Clinician, you’ll provide meaningful, short-term therapeutic support to students referred through the school system. You’ll partner closely with educators, families, and clinical teams to deliver impactful care.
Clinical Impact
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based approaches
- Conduct comprehensive clinical and trauma assessments, crisis plans, and threat evaluations
- Develop thoughtful, individualized treatment plans using clinical data and collateral information
- Deliver crisis support and participate in on-call response when needed
- Support students transitioning back from higher levels of care
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify needs and improve student outcomes
- Educate school staff on mental health and wellness strategies
Collaboration & Leadership
- Participate in clinical teams, case planning, and program development
- Connect students and families to additional services and community resources
- Serve as a trusted resource for both staff and families
Administrative Excellence
- Maintain timely, high-quality documentation (notes, plans, assessments, discharges)
- Manage a steady caseload with a goal of 20–25 billable units per week
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development

Requirements:Education and Experience Requirements
- The position requires a Master Degree in a Human Service or related field plus one year of experience with a similar population. The position also requires valid NC licensure (LCSW/A, LMFT/A or LPMHC/A and LCAS/A.)
- Some positions require an LCAS.
- Requires knowledge and the ability to practically implement mental health regulations and clinical services.
- Requires effective communication, decision making, analytical, interpersonal, leadership and professionalism skills and abilities.
- Must have basic computer and math skills.
- Must have a valid North Carolina’s Driver’s License.
- Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal, HCPR and driving checks.

- The employee must occasionally travel to different locations in the course of work.
- Physical functions which are considered essential to the satisfactory performance of the job include the following: public speaking, reading, typing, writing, using the telephone, driving, therapeutically restraining children and adolescents in crisis situations.
