The Ideal Candidate
The District Sales Manager should have at least 3-5 years' experience in wholesale distribution or in residential or commercial design/build sales and project management. This experience is critical to a quick ramp up of sales, but candidates with less experience, a positive attitude, strong sales and people skills, and an aptitude for technical products within the construction and development industries will be considered. We are looking for someone who has a strong sense of urgency, who possesses a confident demeanor, and is highly motivated. Though this position is considered a sales role, the candidate must have an aptitude for technical problem solving and the desire to grow themselves, sales, and the product presence within their assigned territory.
Job Location
Ideally the candidate will live in New Jersey. This position will require some overnight travel to NY.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish and develop new customers for the company in the defined geographic market or industry.
- Maintain and Grow existing Key Account customer relationships to increase the amount & scope of business the Company does with our customers
- Support the annual budget, by profitably meeting or exceeding it for the given territory
- Provide call reports, account profiles, itineraries and expense reports, in a timely manner, demonstrating professional organization, planning, & time management skills.
- Identify, manage, close, and grow opportunities in assigned territory.
- Meet or exceed annual individual performance goals as assigned by immediate supervisor.
- 70% of time allotment is on in person sales calls
- 25% of all calls in the field should be on focused on developing the contractor to influence the sale.
- Conduct product and application seminars to current customers and organizations to promote contractor awareness of products and services.
- Support Company Key initiatives.
- Identification of key CSW contractors to support lead generation & a healthy project pipeline.
- Position reports directly to the NE Regional Sales manager.
Qualifications
- Degree from four-year College or university preferred.
- Minimum of three to five years sales experience with a preferred progression from inside sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong industry sales/specification experience. Intermediate PC skills, as well as general knowledge of CRM systems, Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word are a must. Salesperson must show willingness to learn and utilize internal computer system.
- Must have a valid driver’s license at all times as well as a clean DMV record.
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, relationship, time management, prioritization and business skills
- Ability to recognize potential problem and react quickly and effectively.
- Must demonstrate good team and human relation skills, reliability and trustworthiness.
- Ability to read and analyze sales reports and interpret general business trends.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Hiring Range: $90 - 115K/Annual USD
