Description
The Anaheim Convention Center (ACC), owned and operated by the City of Anaheim, reigns as the largest exhibit facility on the West Coast, hosting major, well-attended events such as the Winter NAMM Show, Disney's D23 Expo, VidCon, and more. Originally opened in 1967, the ACC now spans 53 acres with 1.8 million square feet of function space and numerous dynamic features. Our seventh expansion, completed in Fall 2017, added 200,000 square feet of flexible meeting space for our guests.
This is a part-time, year-round position, averaging 20 hours per week. A minimum number of hours is not guaranteed. Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned.

Part Time Duty Manager
- Provide assistance and relief to the Event Managers.
- Maintain and facilitate communication between tenants, contractors, and employees.
- Monitor the quality of services provided.
- Inspect the facility for damage, report damage to security, and/or submit work orders for repairs.
- Ensure that a safe environment is maintained throughout the tenancy of contracted events.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
Knowledge of: Event industry and providing customer service in a multi-purpose facility, including conventions, exhibits, trade and consumer shows, concerts, athletic events, and meetings; methods and techniques to coordinate and plan events; basic computer knowledge, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; Federal, State, City, and County rules and regulations.
Ability to: Manage activities and events; review room arrangements and make changes or correct deficiencies to tenant satisfaction; maintain a good working relationship with managers and tenants; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; and effectively complete a written report at the conclusion of each shift.
Supplemental Information
Note: This is an event-related position. While the hours of work are irregular and no minimum number of hours is guaranteed, employees are expected to be available for an average of twenty hours per week. Availability to work early morning hours, weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical Conditions: Work is performed in both an office and event environment, utilizing modern office equipment and technology, and may require sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. The incumbent stands, walks, climbs stairs, and may twist, reach, bend, crouch, and kneel. An incumbent must be able to meet the requirements of the classification and have mobility, vision, hearing, and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed.
Supervision Received and Exercised: Work under the general supervision of the Event Services Manager, who gives general guidance and direction. Work in progress and completed work are reviewed periodically.

RETIREMENT BENEFITS – The City contracts with the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) to provide retirement benefits. Retirement formula is based on appointment date and membership status with CalPERS.
Part-time eligible employees become members of CalPERS as either Classic or New members.
Part-time employees not eligible for CalPERS are required to participate in the City’s part-time 457 plan, as a replacement plan for Social Security.
