Description
The Industrial Maintenance Planner & Scheduler provides lead-level planning, scheduling and coordination of maintenance activities for complex water and wastewater treatment facilities, systems and remote sites.

10.5 paid holidays per year, and full-time employees are also granted an additional 12 hours of holiday special leave per calendar year to celebrate their cultural or religious holidays- Vacation leave accrues at:
- 5.33 hours per pay period (138 hours/17.25* days per year)
- Increases to 6.12 hours per pay period after 5 years
- Then caps out at 7.6 hours per pay period after 10 years of service
- Sick leave accrues at 4.4 hours per pay period (114 hours/14.25 days* per year)
Days per year estimates are based on an 8-hour work day.
This position participates in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
- Contribution is mandatory, and deducted every pay period
- The current contribution rate is 11.98%

Essential Functions
Essential Functions:
- Leads maintenance planning, scheduling, and coordination activities for staff, contractors and operational stakeholders.
- Coordinates maintenance activities with operations to maximize reliability, minimize downtime and ensure safe work execution.
- Procures materials, equipment and services; maintains critical spare parts availability; and ensures compliance with City procurement requirements.
- Maintains technical documentation, asset records, and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system integrity while promoting standardized maintenance practices.
- Develops and maintains short- and long-term maintenance schedules, backlog management process and contingency plans.
- Estimates labor, materials, equipment, tools, contractor support and specialized resources required for maintenance activities, projects, shutdowns and capital improvements.
- Monitors and reports maintenance performance metrics, KPIs, budgets and asset management data.
- Ensures compliance with applicable safety regulations, industry standards and maintenance best practices, including reliability-centered and condition-base maintenance methodologies.
- Provides training and guidance on maintenance planning, scheduling, asset management systems and work management processes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/Special Requirements/Success Factors
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of experience in industrial maintenance, maintenance planning and scheduling, or asset management within water/wastewater treatment, utilities, manufacturing, chemical processing or similar industrial environments, including experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS/EAM).
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Maintenance Planner (CMP) certification is preferred.
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.

- Analyze maintenance data and performance trends
- Interpret technical drawings and manuals
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Interact professionally with staff at all levels of the organization
- Coordinate multiple priorities and resources
- Utilize CMMS/EAM systems to support maintenance operations and continuous improvement
Special Requirements:
- May be required to work evenings, holidays and/or weekends on occasion.
- This position is classified as safety-sensitive which requires candidates to successfully undergo drug and alcohol testing prior to employment. They will be subject to further drug and alcohol testing throughout their period of employment in accordance with the City of Glendale Substance Abuse policy. A post-offer physical assessment is required. The City of Glendale will incur the cost of all required testing.

Lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, lengthy periods of standing and walking. Office setting with frequent visits to field. Will be exposed to fumes, dust, hazardous materials, confined spaces, heights greater than 10 feet, untreated wastewater, and weather extremes.
