Duties include repairing and maintaining street infrastructure; setting up safety and traffic control systems for repair work; cleaning, servicing and maintaining assigned tools, machinery, equipment and vehicles; using basic equipment to perform repairs, e.g. jackhammer, rakes, and/or shovels; serving as a flagger to direct traffic around work zones; and removing refuse and debris from rights-of-way, medians and embankments. Six months of related experience, the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance and basic computer skills are required. Must possess a valid Class C Texas driver’s license; and possess, or be able to obtain within six months, a valid Class A Texas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Normal hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but schedule will also include some after-hours, weekends and holidays.
