Nature of Work
This is professional consulting and supervisory work coordinating and overseeing the City of Miami Beach’s Excellence Programs, as well as administrative work for the Education and Performance Initiatives Office. Work involves working closely with Excellence Program assessors and the Chief Education Officer. Supervision is exercised over subordinate personnel involved in carrying out the daily activities of such programs and ensuring that the work is accomplished in accordance with established procedures and agreements. Emphasis of the work is on supporting the assessors and Chief Education Officer in workflow analysis, best practice review, management reviews, system reviews, and other analysis in the Office. Work involves the consistent exercise of judgment and discretion in its performance. Reports to the Chief Education Officer/Department Division Director.
Illustrative Examples of Essential Duties
- Researches, prepares or assists in the preparation of various reports, recommendations, etc. to ensure that the City meets its goals and objectives as it relates to the Performance Initiatives including Garage Index, Garage Attendant, Garage Security, Cleanliness Index, Appearance Index, Restroom Index, Mystery Rider Program, Valet Index, Café Index and Service Shopper Program.
- Provides after hour and weekend supervision of assessors.
- Assists in the troubleshooting of various software platforms and tablet issues for multiple Performance Initiatives including Cleanliness, Snap Surveys (Mystery Rider, Restroom, and Garage) and Service Shopper Program (Service Shopper, Garage Attendant and Garage Security)
- Maintains and updates assessors’ quarterly work schedule to ensure statistical validity of each Performance Initiative.
- Addresses all vehicle related issues (EPI and rental) that are utilized by assessors 24/7/365.
- Participates as needed in conducting interviews.
- Collects, analyzes and summarizes data, preparing flow diagrams, charts and tables, and developing recommendations and observations, and preparing descriptive.
- Prepares LTC’s, memoranda, and reports for Chief Education Officer.
- Performs a variety of analytical work as assigned by Chief Education Officer.
- Supports payroll preparation, supply requisitions, usage reports, direct payments, Petty Cash fund, PCard statements, and annual budget.
- Prepares agenda packages for Chief Education Officer for the Neighborhood/community Affairs Committee, Finance and Citywide Projects Committee, and Commission meetings
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Planning or a closely related field.
- Minimum of one year experience in management studies, organizational reviews, efficiency and best practices analysis, or related management area.
- A Master’s Degree may substitute for one year of the required experience.
- The work is typically performed in an office, sitting at a desk or table, while intermittently standing or stooping, walking, kneeling, reaching, carrying and climbing
- Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to computer terminal and handheld electronic device.
