The Manufacturing Training Specialist is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering operational training programs that support employee performance, safety, quality, and productivity across Cohere Beauty's manufacturing operations. This role serves as the primary training resource and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for production processes and partners closely with Operations, Quality, Safety, and Human Resources to ensure employees are trained, qualified, and capable of performing their jobs successfully.
The Manufacturing Training Specialist will become a functional expert in Pre-Weigh, Compounding, Filling, Silkscreen and Maintenance operations while designing and facilitating training programs that drive operational excellence, workforce capability, quality, and employee development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Training Facilitation & Workforce Development
- Deliver instructor-led, hands-on, and on-the-job training programs for manufacturing employees.
- Facilitate operational onboarding and job-specific training for new hires.
- Conduct training for Pre-Weigh, Compounding, Filling, and Silkscreen employees.
- Assess employee competency through observations, demonstrations, knowledge assessments, and qualification checklists.
- Provide coaching and developmental feedback to employees and supervisors.
- Support training for new equipment, technologies, products, procedures, and process changes.
- Lead cross-training initiatives to increase workforce flexibility and operational readiness
Training Program Design & Administration
- Design, develop, and maintain structured training programs and qualification pathways for operational positions.
- Create and update training materials, SOPs, work instructions, job aids, presentations, and competency assessments.
- Ensure training content aligns with operational, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain training records, qualification documentation, and retraining schedules.
- Monitor training effectiveness and recommend improvements based on performance data and feedback.
Subject Matter Expertise
- Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of manufacturing processes including Pre-Weigh, Compounding, Filling, and Silkscreen operations.
- Partner with HR to ensure employee skills, competencies, and job responsibilities are appropriately aligned with compensation, promoting internal equity and consistency across all functional areas.
- Serve as a trusted training and process resource for employees, supervisors, and managers.
- Partner with operational leaders to identify skill gaps, performance challenges, and developmental opportunities.
- Support troubleshooting efforts by identifying training-related root causes and recommending solutions.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve employee performance, knowledge retention, and training effectiveness.
- Support efforts to reduce quality deviations, operational errors, downtime, and waste through effective training and employee development.
- Assist with standardization of best practices across manufacturing departments.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all training programs support compliance with company policies, GMP requirements, safety standards, and regulatory expectations.
- Reinforce safe work practices and quality expectations during all training activities.
- Support internal and external audits by providing training documentation and records as required.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with others.

Minimum Education & Experience
- High School or equivalent.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Manufacturing, Education, Organizational Development, Industrial Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years in manufacturing, production, operations, or training experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to train and engage employees with varying experience levels and learning styles.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and workforce development practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility across all organizational levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to interpret and explain manufacturing procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.

- Ability to set priorities and work independently.
- Ability to maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Preferred Knowledge, Certifications, Skills & Abilities
- Experience in cosmetics, beauty, consumer packaged goods (CPG), food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
- Previous experience developing and facilitating employee training programs preferred.
- Experience creating SOPs, work instructions, training materials, and competency assessments preferred.
Travel & Working Conditions
- Primarily Manufacturing environment – some temperature extremes, dust, noise, and wet conditions.
