Job Summary
CommonBond is seeking an experienced accountant to join their accounting team. This person will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. Key responsibilities include reconciling accounts, ensuring correct eliminations for affiliated entities and assisting with audits. This person will also play a vital role in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (the % should be listed for 3-5 major key areas of responsibility)

Maintain accurate financial records for each of the affiliated entities ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures
- Ensure accounting methods are under GAAP and that governmental reporting requirements are followed accurately
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations utilizing Yardi automated functionality
- Execute recurring journal entries, manage proper backup documentation, and reconcile all general ledger and corporate accounts
- Process monthly expense uploads with precise account coding
- Prepare and complete quarterly sales and use tax reporting
- Maintain debt schedules and supporting schedules for assets, liabilities and depreciation.
- Assist with cash transfers and coordinate special accounting projects as directed by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP Concur, Yardi) and advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, macros)
- Proficiency in financial analysis and forecasting with the ability to interpret complex data
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Education and Other Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
- 0-2 years of corporate accounting experience, preferably within property management or real estate.
- Experience working with consolidations and multiple sets of books
- Experience in Yardi is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
- Ability to maintain tight and effective internal control procedures
- Strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple entity deadlines simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience working within diverse communities, which include people of various ages, genders, sexual orientations, national origins, income levels, ability levels, religious affiliations, races, and languages
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
- Excellent customer service, organization, and both written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple duties while adhering to established deadlines
