Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director, Financial Opportunities, this position is responsible for implementing and coordinating programs and services focused on supporting participants to obtain and maintain sustainable employment and providing direct services to participants as they prepare for, find, and maintain living-wage jobs in their community.
Essential Functions:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Employment Coaching:
Provide employment coaching to support participants in reaching economic stability by securing and maintaining living wage employment.
In partnership with the participant, establish employment goals and develop an employment action plan.
Conduct career assessments to determine interest, skill level and training needs.
Prepare participants for job search, interviewing and hiring process, including developing a professional resume and conducting mock interviews.
Work with community partners and employers to match qualified participants to open employment positions.
Assist participants in searching and applying for jobs that match their skills and interests.
Assist participants in the job interview and onboarding process to ensure they secure and retain employment.
Monitor participant job retention and maintain open communication to assess continued employment.
Work within the Agency and with external partners to provide a continuum of services for participants.
Employment Training:
Identify and develop partnerships with local training and education providers.
Match participants with training and education opportunities that fit their employment action plan goals.
Develop training materials and/or tailor existing materials to meet the employment training needs of participants and community members.
Coordinate and/or Lead monthly/quarterly workshops on employment topics such as interviewing skills, resume writing, career choices, and job retention.
Program Management, Outreach, Evaluation and Growth:
Maintain accurate and complete records for all participants to document eligibility, program services and to track and report outcomes.
Assist in creating reports that accurately represent activities contributing to monthly, year-end, program and long-term
outcomes consistent with agency, program, and funder requirements.
Assist with researching and developing communication materials and outreach strategies.
Provide monthly, quarterly and annual program outcome reports.
Maintain and support the program through coordination of office systems, databases, and file maintenance.
Provide coordination and work effectively with staff to assure smooth, timely and efficient operation of the program.
Attend staff meetings, other meetings, workshops and program-specific training sessions when appropriate.
Identify opportunities and provide work direction for volunteers to increase our capacity to meet goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety: Responsible for conducting all duties in a safe manner.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a Human Services or related field with 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Abilities and Skills: In order to be successful in this position, the person will at minimum need to possess the following abilities and skills:
Must be able to fulfill departmental objectives using initiative, self-motivation, organizational skills, and sound judgment.
Must have demonstrated experience providing case management in employment counseling and/or workforce development.
Experience facilitating adult group training required.
Experience with trauma informed and/or strengths-based case management or coaching.
Professional and/or lived experience working with diverse communities and/or households defined as low income.
Ability to relate to and communicate effectively with a variety of multi-ethnic and socio-economic groups and/or individuals
Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including collaborating with a team, working across program areas, disseminating information effectively and conflict resolution.
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
Public speaking skills preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), web-based storage/document creation services (Google Drive and Google Docs) and electronic client records management experience.
Knowledge of community resources preferred.
To ensure compliance with program requirements and the safety of staff and clients, the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, is required
Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation on a daily basis is required.
Physical Requirements: Normal physical exertion required.
Mental Requirements: This position requires an awareness of deadlines, the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, and the ability to function independently.
Environmental Requirements: Normal office environment.

Starting Hourly Range: $24.52/hr - $27.59/hr
Bilingual Hourly Salary Range: $25.14/hr - $28.28/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 Hours/Week, Full Time, Full Year
Syndicate Headquarters - Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm
Remote Capability: This position has 20% remote capability (8 hours per week).
