DEPARTMENT: Administration-Community Engagement
POSITION TITLE: RSVP Volunteer Coordinator
LOCATION: Northampton
STATUS: Non-Exempt
SUPERVISOR: RSVP Program Director
POSITION SUMMARY
The RSVP Volunteer Coordinator manages the recruitment, retention, and recognition of senior volunteers primarily in Hampden County, with a special emphasis on Spanish-speaking volunteers and programs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with RSVP Director and Volunteer Manager in all areas of recruitment, retention, and recognition of senior volunteers.
- Interviews and matches volunteers with volunteer positions, utilizing the volunteer’s unique talents, interests and skills.
- Recruits, trains, and supports volunteers and stations that serve the Spanish-speaking population in the Pioneer Valley.
- Works with volunteer stations to identify, develop, and recruit for appropriate volunteer positions for RSVP volunteers.
- Organizes ongoing volunteer training with primary focus on high impact initiatives.
- Requests, collects, and drafts volunteer opportunities and events for use in newsletter, website, social media, and traditional media outreach.
- Provides support and problem-solves with volunteers and volunteer stations.
- Maintains accurate volunteer records.
- Oversees work of select volunteers assigned to the RSVP program.
- Represents RSVP in community meetings and events.
- Required to work some evenings and weekends as job requires.
- Required to travel throughout service area and outside of service area as needed.
- Participate in professional development activities, regularly scheduled supervision meetings, team meetings. mandatory agency training, and other relevant training courses.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality.
- Comply with agency and funders’ paperwork requirements and procedures
- Other duties required for the management of the RSVP project and grant

Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:

Key Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience working with older adults and/or volunteers
- Experience with data management, data capture, tracking methods and analysis for outcome measurements
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Suite using a mouse, email, and other program-specific software
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a highly valued skill for this role.

- Four years’ experience in related field

- The work environment includes indoor office environments or comparable spaces, and community spaces, with occasional exposure to outdoor weather when traveling to outreach or meeting sites. The noise level varies by site.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of Criminal Offender Record check (C.O.R.I.) prior to hire and every three years. Successful completion of the National Service Criminal History Check components, including the NSOPW, state check, and FBI check. Evidence of a good driving record and ability to be covered under Community Action’s non-owned and hired vehicle policy.
