CCBC provides inpatient, outpatient, and urgent care services to adults and children overcoming depression, anxiety, mood disorders, substance abuse, and many other conditions hindering personal fulfillment. Description of Position
CCBC is seeking per diem licensed practical nurses (LPN) for our 24-hour, 8-bed crisis stabilization unit located in Norton, MA. Our unit is a short term, voluntary, no restraint psychiatric program for individuals who are experiencing subacute psychiatric treatment needs which do not require a hospital level of care. LPNs are part of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, physicians, MHWs, Peer Support Specialists and nurses creating a patient-centered environment of healing.

Job responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of psychiatric diseases and appropriate treatment modalities
- Administer and monitor medications
- Record and report observed symptoms and reactions to treatments and changes in patient status
- Complete client admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Collect patient data
- Provide nursing care and serve to educate clients with respect to the use of psychiatric medication
- Utilize community resources and referrals to empower clients to achieve their highest level of independent functioning
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited and/or approved practical nurse program
- Current, unencumbered license as a practical nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current certification in CPR
- Minimum 1 year experience in healthcare and nursing services
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work with detailed, confidential material
- Preference for experience working with patients with behavioral/mental health or cognitive conditions
