The medical assistant float will work in our greater New Haven county offices. The hours vary between 8:00am and 5:00pm.
What a medical assistant will have the ability to do…
- Play a lead role in the administrative responsibilities of a physician team
- Connect with the patient. From scheduling to insurance coordination and more, this position plays a key role in the care process and patient experience
- Practice communication and planning skills by coordinating with physicians, clinical MAs, surgical centers, X-ray staff, etc.
- Utilize and grow EMR skills by documenting patient information, reviewing and distributing test results and executing necessary pre-op documentation
Skills and abilities that a medical assistant should possess…
- Surgical scheduling preferred
- A knowledge of EMR systems
- A positive attitude and friendly, courteous demeanor
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to comply with all HIPAA requirements
Education and experience needed…
- A high school diploma
- Experience working with an EMR (EPIC Preferred)
- Two (2) or more years of medical assistant experience

Connecticut Orthopaedics (CO) has been serving patients in the greater New Haven area for over 60 years. Our practice has merged with several surrounding orthopaedic groups over the past several years and has become the largest privately-owned orthopaedic practice in New England. Due to our quality of care and attentiveness to our patients, we are proudly the team of orthopaedic physicians for multiple colleges and high schools as well as have our own physical therapy centers. In addition to our orthopaedic service line, we have three MRI suites, (5) acute care orthopaedic walk-in centers and a surgery center in Branford.
