Position Details
- Position: Special Education Teacher
- Grades: K-6
- Location: Kittery, Maine
- Schedule: Full-time, school-year position with an abbreviated summer program
Salary
- Master’s Degree (030 or 282 Certification): $65,000-$75,000
- Bachelor’s Degree (282 or 865 Certification): $58,000-$65,000
What You’ll Do
As our Special Education Teacher, you will lead our special purpose private school of approximately 8-10 students while working alongside clinicians, BCBA, Behavioral Health Professionals, and other team members to create a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned with student needs
- Differentiate curriculum using evidence-based teaching strategies
- Track student progress and maintain educational documentation
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Foster a positive, structured classroom where students can succeed academically and emotionally
Qualifications
- Maine Special Education Certification (030, 282, or 865) or eligibility for certification
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
- Passion for supporting children with diverse learning and behavioral needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Positive attitude and commitment to student success
