Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
Drive sales growth for Corning Optical Communications (COC) products within the South Central Territory (North Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas). This role is responsible for developing and executing a territory sales plan to grow the business, expand customer relationships, and deliver network solutions that leverage Corning’s full portfolio and capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Meet or exceed sales targets for assigned telecommunications products within the territory
Develop and execute territory and account plans to drive growth and customer engagement
Generate new business while maintaining and growing existing customer accounts
Build relationships across end users, distributors, contractors, and consultants, while maintaining a balanced sales call mix across customer segments
Promote Corning’s products, solutions, and value proposition through a consultative selling approach
Provide product and solution training to customers and channel partners, as appropriate
Accurately document customer activities, opportunities, and sales results in Salesforce.com
Effectively manage travel and business expenses within the assigned territory budget
Manage territory activities effectively while working independently from a home-based office
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred; technical discipline preferred
2+ years of experience in sales, marketing, product management, engineering, or a related field
Strong consultative selling and communication skills, with the ability to clearly engage internal stakeholders and external customers
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively across functions and customer groups
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook, and Salesforce.com
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Industry and product knowledge within telecommunications, optical communications, or network solutions
Understanding of Corning’s products, solutions, and customer value proposition
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing
Ability to work independently in a virtual, territory-based role
Travel and Location of Work
Travel up to 75%
Home-based role located within the South Central Territory (North Texas, Oklahoma, or Arkansas)

The range for this position is $77,145.00 - $106,075.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
