Key Responsibilities
- Deliver client-centered, evidence-based care throughout the therapy process including evaluations, interventions, re-evaluations, and discharge planning.
- Supervise and mentor Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs).
- Guide and coach clinical students and volunteers during their placements.
- Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Participate in department growth through in-service training, case reviews, and program development.
- Stay current with research and innovations in pediatric occupational therapy.
- Comply with all legal, professional, and ethical requirements as outlined by the State of Texas and AOTA.
- Assist in community outreach and education initiatives as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Skill Requirements
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas.
- Pediatric experience preferred, but not required.
- High ethical standards and a client-first mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong collaboration skills for working in interdisciplinary settings.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements
- Extensive standing, walking, bending, reaching, and kneeling throughout the day.
- Participation in physical and play-based therapy sessions, including lifting or positioning clients.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
