Davis Behavioral Health (DBH) is seeking a full-time therapist to join the Adult Mental Health Program and work in both the Syracuse outpatient clinic. This position provides outpatient mental health services including conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, providing individual and group therapy, and monitoring client progress using evidence-based interventions. The therapist collaborates with the multidisciplinary treatment team, provides crisis intervention as needed, and maintains timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.

Essential Job Functions
The outpatient clinician will be responsible for completing the following tasks:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations. Evaluate for co-occurring substance use if appropriate.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans based on client needs and medical necessity following Medicaid and DBH standards.
- Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions as clinically appropriate/every six months.
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention when necessary.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, APRNs, case managers, and other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team to coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with agency, Medicaid/Medicare, and regulatory standards. (24-hour period).
- Participate in treatment team meetings, consultations, supervision, and program coordination activities.
- Ensure services support client stability, recovery, and functioning in the community.
- Other duties and responsibilities and needed and assigned.
Schedule
The successful candidate with work Monday through Friday. There is the possibility of working a 4/10-hour schedule or 4/9-hour, 1/4-hour schedule. Adult Mental Health Outpatient therapists are required to work at least one evening per week until 7:00 pm.
Location
This position is primarily housed at the DBH Syracuse Clinic, located at 1799 West 1700 South, Syracuse, UT 84075.
Compensation
This position is classified as full-time, exempt. This position is eligible for a hybrid base rate salary plus incentive model if the candidate is interested.
Base Rate
The base rate for fully licensed clinicians is calculated with a starting annual rate of $75,500.00 plus credit for years of full-licensure experience as defined below:
$77,000.00 to $88,000.00 per year is the approved base rate range
1% per year for each year of full licensure
$3,000 Spanish-language incentive annual stipend (paid bi-weekly) available. Must pass a Spanish assessment.
The starting annual earnings for under-licensed therapists (CSW, ACMHC) is $65,000.00 per year.
Incentive Payment Option
DBH has implemented a salary + incentive model to help improve access to mental health services. Employees who choose to participate in this compensation model will receive a per service incentive for all direct service hours provided during each pay period at the following rates:
$45 per service for services 49-60 in a pay period
$50 per services for all services 61 and beyond
Clinical documentation for all services completed during each 2-week pay period must be completed no later than 12:00 am on the Monday following the end of a pay cycle to receive payment for services provided during the period. While this program is designed for clinicians working in an outpatient mental health program, clinicians who are interested in participating in this program may develop and present a plan on how they can help improve access and have it reviewed by their Program Director and the DBH Clinical Director for approval. Certain positions at DBH may not be approved for this position due to the nature of their core job and the essential duties assigned to that position.
Qualifications
Required
The Adult Mental Health Therapist must fulfill the minimum required qualifications:
- Master's degree in social work or related field.
- Current full/independent licensure in the state of Utah as an LCSW or equivalent
- Consideration may be made for candidates with a CSW, ACMHC, or AMFT license who are nearing completion of full licensure requirements.
- Must have relevant experience in the behavioral health field.
Experience
Required
2-3 years working with the SPMI population
Experience in completing behavioral health assessments and providing clinical care.

Clinical expertise in screening, assessments, diagnosis, and crisis intervention.
Demonstrates the skills necessary to motivate and engage clients.
Considerable knowledge of trauma-informed care, including screening, assessing, and treating from a trauma-informed lens.
Good organizational and practice management skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and community agencies (such as DCFS, juvenile courts, etc.).
Flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work, including evenings.
Spanish language skills are strongly preferred with the ability to perform the essential job functions in both the English and Spanish languages.
