The Product Lifecycle Management Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the company’s 2D and 3D CAD standards and information for a company-wide PLM document control system. He/she is also responsible for establishing and maintaining Engineering design workflows within the PLM system and the Engineering Design Records (EDR) department.
Job Functions:
- Develop, Implement and enforce CAD Standards (technical and procedural)
- Organize and maintain the CAD environment and maintain CAD file integrity
- Establish and maintain a PLM document control system
- Act as the PLM Specialist
- Check drawings and models for accuracy and adherence to standards
- Supply technical support for all CAD software
- Identify opportunities and recommendations for increasing workflow efficiency
- Responsible for PLM vendor management and PLM software issues
- Produce productivity enhancements and customizations that fit the company’s needs
- Provide training to in-house PLM users
- Monitor PLM industry technology and suggest/ implement enhancements
- Provide leadership and vision to the company regarding PLM
- Lead the implementation of a company-wide PLM document control system
- Reading and understanding the company safety policies
- Knowledge of PLM systems, preferably Teamcenter
- Knowledge of Engineering design practices as related to 3D and 2D CAD systems and drawing file maintenance
- Ability to work efficiently and independently and manage time well
- Knowledge of ERP systems and part numbering systems
- Ability to communicate effectively and evaluate situations and opportunities
- Ability to operate at an advanced level in computer software
- Ability to demonstrate professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge in using 3D CAD tools for product design
- Ability to be personally connected to others on the job, maintain a professional demeanor with a positive attitude
- BS in Engineering discipline or 5+ years related experience and/ or training required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience working with a PLM document control system environment (user or administrator) required
- Experience with MS office applications
- Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance
- Experience with using Siemens SolidEdge for 3D Cad development
- Experience with using Siemens Teamcenter PLM document control system
- Experience with using Bentley’s Microstation and/or AutoCad for 2D drawings
