Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification for Universal Refrigerant Recovery and HVAC Repair and Maintenance.
- Four (4) years of related experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates daily work assignments for the HVAC work group and energy management system, works on high and low voltage power equipment, hydraulic equipment, electrical controls, reads/understands service manuals and blueprints, design, fabricate and
- installs duct work, maintains department records, assists with completion of events and tasks as needed.
- Supervises and leads employees to include training, assigning and evaluating work, coordinating work with other departments and sub-contractors. Implements and enforces policy and procedures for area of responsibility; interprets same for staff as needed.
- Maintains, repairs and operates energy management system, operates and maintains digital controls and pneumatic controls
- Service, repair and maintain air conditioning units, air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, walk-in freezers, coolers and ice machines, changes filters in said devices.
- Tests indoor air quality periodically and makes necessary adjustments, tests and maintains proper water chemistry.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and parts, requests additional items as necessary per job project.
- Works on-call, weekends, emergencies and/or overtime as required. Schedules staff to same as required.
- Drives Daytona State College vehicles when necessary to retrieve/return supplies, equipment, tools, etc. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Must be able to be forklift certified.
- Attends or conducts staff meetings to exchange information; attends professional seminars or conferences to improve professional skills, maintain licensing certifications. Provides support services to other units within Daytona State College.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Must be able to multi-task and have a high level of organizational skills.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must have computer knowledge to be able to clock in/out and view other personnel related information (i.e. paycheck, W-2, etc.).
