- Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
- Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation, maintaining documentation.
- Analyze and isolate issues.
- Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
- Establishes network specifications by conferring with users, analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements.
- Develop and implement GPO changes and password policies
- Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.
- Configure and install network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, wireless, VPN, QoS, MPLS)
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Help to formulate and execute regularly scheduled maintenance of the systems. Ensure our disaster plan is effective and our machines are configured to handle the required workloads.
- Pursing personal development of skills and knowledge is necessary for the effective performance of this position.
- Maintain IS Knowledge Base Entries that cover topics in a manner that enables the members of Technical Services and Systems Support to answer and correct common problems.
- Set permissions for access; assign different levels of access to different levels of authority.
- Maintaining, monitoring and enhancing security utilizing MS Defender, Intune, and creating / enforcement of policies.
- Monitoring and maintaining all the hardware and software in the organization.
- Complete troubleshooting of both software and hardware problems.
- Provide suggestions on hardware that needs to be upgraded, ability to analyze the hardware requirements with actual usage requirements.

- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related area desired but not required
- Microsoft certifications a plus
- Cisco certifications a plus
- A minimum of 10 years of experience, and at least 3 years in a Sr Network Administration position.
- Experience in overseeing customer service and/or help desk in a technical environment required
- Experience overseeing, designing, and deploying highly secure and available networks and applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in PowerShell
- Microsoft Group Policy administration
- Routing, MPLS, VoIP, network subnet design and implementation
- Network management and monitoring systems (Nagios, SCOM, Solarwinds)
- SQL Server knowledge a plus
- Must have expertise in troubleshooting and working with networking protocols, such as MPLS, TCP/IP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, and routing and switching systems
- Knowledge of Cloud Service Providers (Rackspace, AWS, Azure)
- Microsoft Defender and Intune
- Windows Operating Platform (2016-2024, Win10/11)
- Microsoft Office 365 / O365 administration experience
- Cisco, HP, Dell switches/routers
- Dell Servers
- Meraki firewall experience a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Experience in gathering, analyzing, and meeting business requirements

- Minimal Travel – Occasional travel may be required for conferences, trainings or institutional meetings.

- Estimated Starting Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000
