INTRODUCTION TO DEMANDBASE
Demandbase is the only pipeline AI platform that empowers GTM teams to automate growth at scale. With a unified view of data, insights, actions, and outcomes, B2B enterprises can seamlessly align and execute their account-based GTM strategies with confidence. Thousands of businesses trust Demandbase to maximize revenue, minimize waste, and consolidate their data and tech stacks – all in one platform. As a company, we’re as committed to growing careers as we are to building world-class technology. We invest heavily in people, our culture, and the community around us. We have also continuously been recognized as One of The Best Places To Work in the San Francisco Bay Area by Fortune, and One of The 60 Best Companies To Sell For by Selling Power. Our offices are located in San Francisco, New York, Austin, Seattle, India, and the United Kingdom.
THE ROLE
With the rise of LLMs, and the prevalence of ML-models to find patterns in customer data, we’re noticing the B2B SaaS space move from being able to generate meaningful insights based on data to being able to execute meaningful actions against the insights generated. At Demandbase, we believe our Orchestration Engine (the system that allows B2B teams to automate their Go-To-Market strategy at scale) is core to our value proposition. As the Lead Product Manager for Orchestration, you will be the primary architect of this "Action Layer." You will lead a high-impact team focused on building the logic, triggers, and workflows that connect our rich account intelligence to real-world execution. Your challenge is twofold: maintaining a world-class, high-scale orchestration platform while strategically infusing Demandbase AI to move toward more intelligent, agentic use cases.
STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive the Orchestration Roadmap: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of our workflow builder, trigger logic, and action framework. You will ensure our orchestration engine is the most flexible, reliable, and user-friendly tool in the B2B market.
- Deepen the Integration Fabric: Drive the strategy for how our engine interacts with the broader tech stack (Salesforce, Marketo, Slack, etc.). You’ll ensure that complex, multi-step "Plays" execute seamlessly across distributed third-party ecosystems.
- Pragmatic AI Integration: Instead of "AI for AI's sake," you will identify specific orchestration friction points—such as manual segment building or rigid workflow rules—and solve them using Demandbase AI.
- Bridge to Agentic Use Cases: Lay the groundwork for autonomous GTM. You will define how our orchestration logic can support emerging Model Context Protocol (MCP) standards, allowing AI agents to "understand" and "trigger" existing workflows safely.
- Scale & Performance: Partner with Principal Engineering to ensure the orchestration layer can handle massive event volumes (billions of signals) with the low latency required for real-time sales and marketing alerts.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING (ORCHESTRATION EXPERT PROFILE)
- 7+ Years in Product Management: With at least 3-4 years specifically focused on Orchestration, Workflow Automation, or Integration Platforms (e.g., experience with Zapier, Tray.io, Marketo, or CRM automation).
- Logical Architect Mindset: You have a deep love for "If-This-Then-That" logic, Boolean filters, and complex state machines. You understand the nuances of race conditions, retries, and error handling in automated systems.
- Technical Fluency: You are comfortable discussing API design, webhooks, and distributed event processing with Principal Engineers. You understand how data flows through a modern enterprise stack.
- Applied AI Knowledge: You understand the fundamentals of LLMs and Agentic frameworks, but you approach them through the lens of a systems builder — prioritizing reliability and "human-in-the-loop" controls over hype.
- B2B Domain Authority: You understand how a Sales Ops or Marketing Ops leader thinks. You know that for them, "automation" is only as good as its transparency and predictability.
KEY SUCCESS METRICS
1. Orchestration Depth: Increasing the complexity and volume of automated "Plays" running across our customer base.
2. Platform Extensibility: Reducing the effort required to add new third-party actions to the orchestration library.
3. AI-Assisted Efficiency: Measuring time-savings for users by using AI to suggest, build, or optimize orchestration logic.
WHY THIS ROLE?
This is the ultimate role for an autonomous, high agency PM who loves systems thinking, and is equally comfortable thinking strategically as well as can sweat the details. You aren't just building a feature; you are building the "Central Nervous System" of the GTM stack. You will have the unique opportunity to take a proven, market-leading orchestration engine and guide its transition into the AI-powered future.
