Key Accountabilities / Competencies:
- Verify specimen identification and accessioning numbers on all cases, requisition, specimen bottles, and cassettes for each specimen at the time of grossing.
- Quality skills in cutting specimens for optimum processing and slide preparation, including conscientious tissue orientation, mapping, and inking.
- Work as part of a dynamic team, providing cassettes ready for processing though out the day.
- Keep the grossing area stocked, clean and free of safety hazards.
- Communicate with other lab personnel, the Dermatopathologist, and Dermatology staff to resolve any problems, with the intention of maintaining harmonious relations with all laboratory and dermatology staff.
- Flexibility, working as part of a team, to accession cases if required, and perform other laboratory functions as needed.
Requirements:
Candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Science; grossing/lab experience is a plus, but willing to train. Candidate must be energetic, dependable, very conscientious individual who works well with others and is willing to learn new techniques. Hours Mon-Thur 8:30am-6:00pm and Fri 8:30am-2pm
