Summary

ABOUT THE JOBS:
Work schedule is variable; the facility is open seven days a week and works 4/10-hour shifts between 6:30am to 5:00pm.
First as a LANDFILL SITE ATTENDANT, Landfill Site Attendants work directly with our customers assessing and collecting fees, monitoring customer safety and assisting in control of customer movement in a busy environment. Our Landfill Site Attendants are the primary contact that the community has with the Department and the impressions from that interaction reflect the quality of our operations and the positive customer experience.
Compensation for this role is $23.00 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent;
- AND one (1) year of customer service experience, including data entry and payment processing;
- OR any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge to perform the essential functions of the job.
Second as a PUBLIC WORKS EQUIPMENT OPERATOR, LIGHT, The Solid Waste Department operates a modern fleet of trucks and heavy equipment including two and three axle trucks and semi-trucks, a variety of medium to large-size loaders, excavators, paddle-wheel scrapers and water trucks. Knott Landfill is a dynamic work environment where rarely are two days the same!
Compensation for this role is $25.75 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent;
- AND one (1) year of relevant experience;
- OR any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge to perform the essential functions of the job.
Ideal candidates will be able to work additional hours and a flexible schedule when needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of the department and emergencies.
