If so, join our team! Detroit Recovery Project is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Certified Peer Recovery Coach to join our close-knit Youth Recovery Housing team.

Detroit Recovery Project, Inc. (DRP) is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) that provides integrated behavioral health, substance use treatment, and recovery support services for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
We treat the whole person through our integrated programs of primary medical and behavioral healthcare.

What We're Looking For
Detroit Recovery Project is hiring a full-time Certified Peer Recovery Coach to join our Youth Recovery Housing Program serving young adults ages 18-24.
This is a third shift position with a flexible start time between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Employees work an 8.5-hour shift (including a 30-minute unpaid meal period) with corresponding end times based on their scheduled start time (typically 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.). This position is Monday through Friday with no weekend requirement.
In this role, you will utilize your lived experience and professional peer support skills to empower young adults as they navigate recovery from substance use disorders. You'll provide encouragement, mentorship, advocacy, and practical support while helping residents build the skills necessary for long-term recovery and independent living.
Peer Recovery Coaches assist clients with:
- Recovery planning and goal setting
- Attending treatment services and recovery groups
- Vocational training and employment readiness
- Educational opportunities
- Community resource navigation
- Independent living skills
- Ongoing recovery support and encouragement
- Providing overnight support while maintaining a safe, structured, and recovery-oriented living environment

Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with individuals in a Substance Use Disorder (SUD), Behavioral Health, or related human services setting.
- Current Certified Peer Recovery Mentor (CPRM) or Certified Peer Recovery Coach (CPRC) certification through the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) or the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).
This position is grant-funded and requires candidates to possess the required certification at the time of hire to meet grant compliance requirements.
- Valid and unrestricted Michigan Driver's License.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to successfully pass all pre-employment screening requirements, including a criminal background check and drug screening, consistent with applicable laws and organizational policies.
Preferred
- Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Previous experience with data entry and client scheduling.
- Experience working with transition-aged youth (ages 18-24).
Compensation
This grant-funded position offers an hourly wage of $20.00-$22.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and other non-discriminatory factors.
