- Develop computational pipelines to create and analyze demographic models and distributions of fitness effects (DFEs) for polyploid populations
- Maintain precise records of research findings and the analysis of results, including use of git and GitHub
- Write reports as required, communicate findings at local and national professional meetings, and prepare manuscripts for publication
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, and mentor graduate students and/or undergraduates as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
- Proficiency in computational approaches (including bash scripting, python, and R) and prior experience working with large, complex genomic data
- Demonstrated experience in structural variation across or within species, as well as short- and long-read sequencing data
- Able to organize, multitask their time efficiently and work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and interactive research environment
- Effective writing and communication skills
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
