- Lead and administer the company's Tier II Reporting, SPCC plans, Waste, Air, Chemical Approval Process, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Management programs.
- Coordinate and support environmental compliance audits and assessments of company facilities, contractors, and suppliers according to established schedules.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate environmental training programs, including but not limited to HAZWOPER, DOT Hazardous Materials, Lead, and Asbestos training.
- Develop and maintain tracking systems for hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, TSCA-regulated materials, and recycling activities.
- Serve as the lead for Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) compliance activities and provide technical guidance regarding remediation, handling, transportation, and disposal requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental procedures, standards, and programs to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
- Monitor, evaluate, and communicate proposed environmental regulations and emerging requirements that may impact company operations.
- Conduct environmental sampling and assessments for lead, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and asbestos; obtain and maintain applicable certifications as required.
- Respond to environmental incidents and emergencies, including agency notifications, contractor mobilization, site oversight, remediation activities, and public interactions.
- Participate in environmental incident investigations and root cause analyses; develop corrective and preventive actions to minimize recurrence.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with local, state, and federal environmental regulatory agencies.
- Conduct environmental compliance inspections of service centers, substations, warehouses, shops, and contractor/vendor operations.
- Provide technical support and environmental guidance to operational personnel, project teams, and management.
- Support environmental due diligence, site assessments, remediation projects, and compliance reporting activities as assigned.
- Frequent fieldwork and travel to company facilities and project locations.
- Report to Woods Run 6, a minimum of 4 days per week with one day working from home.
- Participation in rotating on-call assignments and storm/emergency response activities.
- Experience with emergency response and hazardous materials incidents preferred.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, utilizing technical expertise, professional judgment, and initiative to achieve assigned objectives.
- Ability to lead environmental projects in dynamic and often ambiguous situations involving diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Technical understanding of environmental remediation principles, technologies, and regulatory requirements associated with utility operations.
- Legacy site permitting and remediation
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned

- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of progressive environmental compliance experience, preferably within the utility, energy, industrial, consulting, or related sectors.

- Working knowledge of electric utility operations, infrastructure, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations related to hazardous materials, PCB management, TSCA, hazardous waste, air quality, water resources, storage tanks, SPCC, and ecological resource management.
- Experience managing environmental compliance programs and interacting with regulatory agencies.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials management, chemical control programs, and emergency response procedures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent technical writing, oral communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, regulatory agencies, contractors, and consultants.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, environmental management systems, and EHS database applications.
- Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to meet company driving requirements.
