Position Overview: The Behavioral Health Manager is a licensed independent practitioner who provides clinical supervision and therapy services to individuals, children, adolescents, families, and/or groups. This role also provides leadership and guidance to behavioral health staff, including scheduling, training, policy implementation, and performance evaluation, ensuring high-quality integrated care delivery.
What You Will Do:
- Provide brief and intensive therapy to clients using professional techniques, including supportive listening, modeling, reframing, skill building, problem-solving, education (e.g., psychotropic medications), and confrontation.
- Conduct crisis counseling and one-time interventions as needed.
- Complete behavioral health assessments, diagnosis, treatment plans, and documentation within required timelines.
- Monitor client progress through timely progress notes, quarterly treatment plan updates, and proper termination procedures.
- Provide clinical supervision to non-independent behavioral health providers (e.g., LMSWs, LPCs, LMHCs).
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and templates to enhance patient documentation.
- Assist in the evaluation of peer reviews and co-sign services provided by non-independent providers.
- Facilitate and deliver staff training to promote integrated care.
- Manage assigned provider schedules, time, and attendance.
- Serve as a backup supervisor for graduate students completing practice experience.
- Consult and network with community services (schools, CYFD, JPO) for client care coordination.
- Engage in cross-disciplinary communication with behavioral health and medical teams.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and professional standards regarding client care, confidentiality, and ethics.
- Attend staff development, department meetings, and other organizational training sessions.
- Other duties as assigned to support the mission of ECFH.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related human service field.
- Current independent practitioner license in New Mexico (e.g., LISW, LPCC).
- Two years post-master's experience in behavioral health, including crisis counseling.
- CPR certification.
- Technically proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical supervision or leadership experience in a behavioral health setting.
- Experience with substance abuse treatment.
- Ability to work with children of all ages and their families.
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Experience in group work and family/couples counseling.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to balance, bend, lift, carry, and pull up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, typically longer than four hours.
- Manual dexterity and ability to use hands and fingers for feeling, grasping, and operating office equipment.
- Adequate hearing ability for communication and monitoring office environments.
- Good vision for reading documents, operating office equipment, and observing surroundings.
- Capability to stoop, crouch, crawl, or kneel as necessary for office tasks.
- Ability to talk clearly and effectively for communication.
- Ability to walk and move around the office environment.
