Job SummaryThis position is responsible for supporting LEAs in the El Dorado Charter SELPA to improve outcomes for students with disabilities. The Program Specialist will be responsible for supporting Local Education Agencies to include charter schools, and local, regional, and statewide partners in their endeavor to provide quality services and programs to students with special needs. Essential Duties: Program Specialists will provide technical assistance, training, and support to LEAs in implementing special education support and services for students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment both in person and through web-based experiences.
Requirements / Qualifications
The program specialist will be responsible for supporting LEAS in person. Program specialist must reside and stay residing in the Los Angeles County Region in order to support the needs of LEAs in person.
The Charter SELPA Program Specialist assignment requires the ability and means to travel regularly on a flexible schedule, including travel locally, within service areas, and throughout the State. Reliable transportation is required to complete work-related travel. The ability to travel within the service area and statewide is an essential function of the position.
This is a remote position with the ability to travel frequently (up to 5x's week)
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in an educational setting in programs that may include special education or general education.
- Valid Special Education Credential or Pupil Personnel Services Credential or California Administrative Services Credential or Master’s Degree in education or related field with a valid California credential.
