Position Summary:
The Clinical Team Lead Supervisor provides clinical leadership, supervision, and program oversight for a multidisciplinary FACT/ACT team serving adults with serious mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and complex psychosocial needs. The Clinical Team Lead ensures the delivery of high-quality, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and evidence-based services consistent with ACT fidelity standards and program requirements.
This position supervises clinical staff, coordinates treatment services, monitors client outcomes, ensures compliance with regulatory and funding requirements, and collaborates with community partners, hospitals, law enforcement, probation/parole, and other stakeholders to support client recovery and community integration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership & Supervision
- Provide direct clinical supervision and consultation to therapists, case managers, peer specialists, and other team members.
- Lead daily team meetings, treatment planning discussions, and case conferences.
- Ensure services are delivered according to ACT/FACT model fidelity standards.
- Review and approve clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other clinical documentation.
- Provide crisis intervention support and clinical guidance for high-risk cases.
- Promote evidence-based practices, recovery-oriented care, and trauma-informed interventions.
Direct Client Services
- Ensure appropriate caseloads, including complex or high-acuity clients as needed.
- Oversee clinical assessments, risk evaluations, and crisis interventions.
- Participate in outreach, engagement, and field-based services.
- Coordinate care with psychiatric providers, hospitals, substance use treatment programs, and community agencies.
- Support staff and clients in achieving recovery goals related to housing, employment, education, health, and community integration.
Team Development
- Train, mentor, and support staff in clinical interventions and ACT/FACT practices.
- Provide feedback for performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities and staff training.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and culturally responsive team environment.
Community Collaboration
- Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources and community partners.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings with courts, probation, law enforcement, hospitals, and social service agencies.
- Ensure appropriate guidance and clinical Advocacy for clients to assist in reducing barriers to treatment and community participation.
Education And Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience providing behavioral health services to adults with serious mental illness.
- Minimum one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience working within ACT, FACT, FSP, intensive case management, crisis services, or community mental health programs preferred.
- Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to provide field-based services.
Certifications & License (Required):
- Valid CA driver’s license with no restrictions
- Active California licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Clinical Psychologist (or eligibility as required by agency policy).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Forensic ACT (FACT), Full-Service Partnership (FSP), or Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) programs.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Experience working with justice-involved individuals and high-acuity populations.
- Certification or advanced training in evidence-based practices, motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, or trauma-informed care.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of ACT/FACT model principles and fidelity standards.
- Strong understanding of serious mental illness, co-occurring disorders, trauma, and recovery-oriented care.
- Experience with crisis intervention, risk assessment, and de-escalation techniques.
- Knowledge of Medi-Cal documentation and behavioral health regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and data management systems.
