- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, electricians, and millwrights.
- Assign daily work orders, establish priorities, and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and production emergencies to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues.
- Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules with production to minimize operational disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, equipment history, and PM documentation using a CMMS.
- Monitor maintenance backlog and prioritize critical and safety-related repairs.
- Work closely with inventory personnel to maintain adequate spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and communicate maintenance priorities with the team.
- Investigate equipment failures, safety incidents, and participate in root cause analysis.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that increase equipment reliability and production efficiency.
Required
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance or a related field preferred.
- 5–7 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2–3 years of supervisory or maintenance leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Mechanical systems
- Electrical systems
- Hydraulics
- Pneumatics
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment and respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in a sawmill, planer mill, lumber, paper mill, or wood products manufacturing environment.
- Journeyman Electrician, Millwright certification, or equivalent technical training.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
