- Mobility & Positioning: Executing safe lifting, transferring, and positioning protocols (e.g., standers, gait trainers, wheelchairs) as directed by PT/OT.?

- AAC Implementation: Facilitating the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices or PECS throughout the school day.
- Modified Curriculum Delivery: Leading small-group or individual sessions using "Access Skills" (e.g., Extended Evidence Outcomes) under the direction of the Special Educator.
- Prompting & Scaffolding: Using a hierarchy of prompts (physical, gestural, verbal) to help students complete tasks, with a focus on fading prompts for independence.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports teachers in addressing student behavior, instructional needs, and medical or health requirements. The students in this center-based program may need a lot of adult support with activities of daily living and with accessing their education. It includes assisting with clerical tasks, student supervision, and redirection. Additionally, the role involves providing feedback to teachers on individual student performance and needs. The position may involve riding the bus and providing student supervision on the bus to and from the work site during morning and afternoon bus runs.

Current First Aid and CPR (or obtained within first 60 days of employment).
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent jogging/running.
Frequent lifting ten (10) to twenty (20) pounds.
Occasional lifting of up to one hundred-fifty (150) pounds, with assistance.
Frequent sitting, bending, walking, standing, stooping, kneeling squatting, and reaching.
Following employment offer/acceptance: Ongoing employment is conditional upon successful clearance of job related medical form (STU11).
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Mostly clean and comfortable in the classroom.
May encounter noise, odors or body fluids.
May be exposed to potential physical hazards when assisting students on and off the bus.

SALARY:
Starting hourly rate is between $20.25 and $22.92 per hour, based upon education and prior related experience.
