Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Assistant Director serves as a key operational leader responsible for the management of assigned programs, regulatory compliance initiatives, institutional services, and division-wide administrative functions, while partnering with departmental leaders to advance strategic priorities, support budget and planning efforts, and enhance operational effectiveness. This position offers a unique opportunity for a motivated professional to assume increasing levels of responsibility and contribute to the continued growth and evolution of the broader Operations Division.
This position will be primarily based at the Fieldston campus in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. At times, the Assistant Director of Campus Services may also be required to work at the Ethical Culture campus on the upper west side of Manhattan. At times, this position requires work on evenings and weekends.
The hiring range for this position is $85,000-$100,000.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the School-wide Transportation Program, serving as the primary liaison among families, transportation providers, independent contractors, and government agencies. Responsibilities include administering the Metro-North Railroad Online Mail & Ride ticketing system; developing, administering, and analyzing the annual All-School Transportation Survey; and coordinating with families, divisional transportation coordinators, and transportation vendors to address routing, service, and student safety concerns related to home-to-school transportation;
- Oversee, maintain, and regularly evaluate compliance programs and regulatory requirements impacting departments within the Division of Operations. Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to applicable New York State and New York City regulations, including but not limited to New York City Health Code Articles 43 and 48, Title I-A consultations, limited laboratory licensing requirements, and student immunization compliance, while coordinating with internal stakeholders and external agencies to support ongoing compliance and operational effectiveness;
- Manage and serve as the primary administrator for the Magnus Health System, including annual health forms, compliance reporting, student records, and related communications. Partner with Health Office staff to monitor health and immunization requirements and support regulatory compliance;
- Assist in the oversight of Dining Services and Health Services, including operational planning, vendor coordination, regulatory compliance, and special projects, with increasing responsibility over time;
- Serve as a representative of the School in matters related to facilities rentals, including coordinating with external organizations, managing client relationships, and supporting the effective use of campus spaces;
- Oversee key operational systems and administrative services, serving as the primary point of contact for functions including the Virtual School Store, postage and mailing systems, and document retention and records management services;
- Provide specialized support to departmental programs with a focus on marketing, customer engagement, surveys, and continuous improvement efforts;
- Collaborate with leaders across the Operations Division, including Facilities, Campus Safety, and After School & Auxiliary Programs, to advance division-wide priorities, support strategic initiatives, and enhance operational effectiveness across the institution;
- Support Operations Division-wide administrative and financial functions, including budget tracking, invoice reconciliation, expense monitoring, data analysis, reporting, and the coordination of special projects to ensure effective stewardship of departmental resources;
- Represent Operations at marketing, admissions, enrollment, and community events as needed;
- Foster positive relationships with team members and various stakeholders;
- Motivate and inspire the team and coworkers to achieve goals; and
- Perform other related projects and duties as needed and assigned.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited institution;
- A demonstrated ability to understand and respond to the needs of individuals from different backgrounds and perspectives;
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with students, families, faculty, staff, vendors, and external partners;
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances;
- The ability to identify issues quickly and problem solve accordingly, and to remain calm in stressful situations that may arise;
- Experience managing programs, projects, vendors, or operational services in an educational, nonprofit, hospitality, healthcare, or similarly customer-focused environment preferred;
- Proficiency with computer systems and software, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and web-based management platforms;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop practical solutions;
- A positive attitude and the ability to listen effectively and be receptive to feedback;
- The ability to handle confidential materials with discretion while maintaining a high level of integrity;
- Demonstrated leadership and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments;
- The ability to cultivate a welcoming culture in which all members of our community feel valued and appreciated.
