Overview
The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring manufactured products meet customer requirements and company quality standards. This role supports production through inspections, documentation, problem-solving, and quality system activities to promote product compliance and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and support resolution of nonconforming materials, work-in-process issues, and customer returns.
- Perform inspections of incoming materials, work-in-process, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements.
- Assist production personnel with first-piece approvals using work instructions, process control sheets, and drawings.
- Create and maintain work instructions, process control sheets, inspection records, and other quality documentation.
- Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) investigations and containment activities.
- Participate in customer complaint investigations and implement containment actions when required.
- Maintain quality records in accordance with company retention requirements.
- Assist with internal and external quality audits.
- Provide quality-related training and guidance to production employees.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and strategic quality projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Basic problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to use inspection and measuring equipment, including calipers and tape measures
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, process control documents, and customer specifications
- Ability to perform basic data analysis and maintain quality records
- Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience preferred
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform inspections throughout a manufacturing facility.
