The Multicare Omak Rural Training Program is seeking a Core Faculty Family Physician to join our dedicated educational team in Omak, Washington. This unique role perfectly balances direct primary care with graduate medical education, allowing you to shape a high-quality rural residency track from the ground up.
Where You’ll Practice
Outpatient Care: Manage your own panel and precept residents at Family Health Centers, a vibrant Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves as the heart of our community's care and the resident continuity clinic.
Inpatient & Obstetrics: Deliver babies and manage care at Mid Valley Hospital, a critical access hospital equipped to handle low-risk obstetrics, acute adult medicine, and stabilizing care for a expansive geographic region.
A Balanced 1.0 FTE Schedule
We protect your time so you can protect your passion for teaching. Your role is structurally divided to prevent burnout and maximize educational impact:
0.6 FTE Outpatient Clinic: Direct patient care (adult, pediatric, prenatal, and procedural care, including LARCs and buprenorphine/MAT).
0.2 FTE Obstetrics & After-Hours Call: Supervising residents on the labor deck and managing admissions.
0.1 FTE Resident Continuity Precepting: Teaching in the clinic, offering real-time feedback, and modeling rural clinical reasoning.
0.1 FTE Protected Academic Time: Dedicated hours for curriculum design, leading procedure workshops, resident mentorship, and QI projects.
Who You Are
A Board-Certified/Eligible MD or DO in Family Medicine.
Eligible for a Washington State Medical License.
A Full-Spectrum Champion: You possess strong skills in outpatient medicine, prenatal/OB care, and office-based procedures. (Surgical OB and inpatient hospitalist capabilities are highly welcomed but optional).
An Educator at Heart: You have a passion for graduate medical education, a commitment to underserved populations, and a desire to teach the "hidden curriculum" of rural resourcefulness and progressive autonomy.
