SUMMARY:
Family Service League is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program, which provides behavioral health services for adults who have been diagnosed with a severe and persistent mental illness. The ACT program is comprised of a multi-disciplined team including skilled staff in psychiatry, nursing, and social work. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for conducting screenings, providing medication management, and overseeing the nursing activities for the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Registered Nurse will organize and manage the system of medication delivery to the clients and medication administration under the direction of the Psychiatrist.
- Provide medication management, planning, and coordination, including injectable medication to the clients in the community.
- Implement and conduct health screenings and assessments.
- Assist the Supervisor by providing oversight of the nursing and health activities for the program.
- The Registered Nurse will complete progress notes and maintain nursing and health related data in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collaborate with the non-medical staff on issues pertaining to the clients’ health.
- Assist the Supervisor by providing staff education to maintain familiarity with the program policies and procedures regarding medication administration, management, and secure records storage.
- Utilize person centered practices in the development of treatment and recovery plans.
- The Registered Nurse will provide on-call crisis intervention by covering evening hours and weekends on a rotating basis.
- Maintain and remain up to date with all agency and ACT specific training.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of New York required.
Minimum of 2 years of prior nursing experience required. Psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required; experience with an EHR preferred.
Excellent time management, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills required.
Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires sitting for long periods of time and travelling to conduct home visits.
