Job Summary

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, preparing accounting documentation, and ensuring timely processing of financial transactions. This position also provides administrative support to the Accounting Department while helping maintain efficient and accurate financial operations.

Responsibilities

1. Accurately enter financial transactions into accounting software and maintain accounting records.

2. Prepare, verify, and process invoices for payment.

3. Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and follow up on outstanding balances.

4. Assist in managing customer purchase orders, invoices, credit insurance, and payment collections.

5. Reconcile vendor statements and investigate payment discrepancies.

6. Prepare financial reports, summaries, and supporting accounting documentation as assigned.

7. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

8. Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation for audits and compliance.

9. Maintain business-related insurance records and documentation.

10. Support general administrative tasks, including document preparation and other accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese is required.

· Minimum 2 years of accounting experience is required.

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

· Experience with accounting software or SAP systems is preferred.

· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Compensation

· Starting Pay: $30 – $34/hour (approximately $62,000 – $70,000 annually) based on experience

· Performance Review: eligible for a potential raise after 90 days based on performance
