Many technical backgrounds provide the skills needed to succeed as a Generator Technician. Experience in diesel or heavy equipment repair, industrial maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, HVAC, automotive or truck repair, marine engines, power generation, construction equipment, or military mechanical and electrical roles all translate well. If you have a strong mechanical aptitude, solid diagnostic skills, and a willingness to learn, we provide the training and support to help you build a successful career servicing commercial and industrial generator systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform preventative maintenance on standby generator systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair gas and diesel engines.
- Troubleshoot electrical circuit boards.
- Perform routine generator maintenance to include oil and filter change, fuel filter change, and cooling system services.
- Troubleshoot complete electrical systems.
- Work with customers on a one-on-one basis.
- Complete and submit work orders and reports.
- Prepare accurate quotes for repairs.
- Maintain truck inventory.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Vo-tech school or Military training, a plus.
- John Deere, Cummins, and/or Caterpillar engine training is preferred.
- Training on Automatic Transfer Switches.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
