Job Title: Quality Inspector
Employee Type: Full Time, Hourly
Reports to: Processing Manager
Job Location: Wichita, KS, USA
Experience: 2+ years of quality inspection in an aerospace manufacturing environment
Shift: 1st Shift: Monday-Friday; 6:00am - 2:30pm
Job Duties:
- Inspects materials, parts, and products at internal and external receipt including different stages of production as well as from outside machining operations.
- Records observations, certificates of conformance, may provide first article inspection support
- Ensure work orders and parts from are inspected appropriately, matched, and sent for final or processing operations.
- Inspection of large aluminum machined parts as well as Part Configuration, Detail part orientation, and final assembly to blueprint requirements.
- Daily use of inspection tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers and other gages
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of quality inspection experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
- Experience with inspection of Paint and Final Inspection.
- Experience with aerospace processing inspection, preferred
- Must possess excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Ability to work on a team as well as independently.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must be dependable and have reliable transportation to work.
- Must be proficient in MS Office applications.
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, and general procedures.
- Must be able to interpret and understand OEM specifications
- Knowledge of measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.)
- Good attendance is required.
Working Conditions:
- Some overtime may be necessary with or without notice
- Will be exposed to constant activity that requires intermittent standing, bending, crouching, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, moving, and carrying light and heavy loads. The essential duties job may require the ability to stoop; to reach; to stand, to walk and sit for extended periods of time; to push and/or pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to use finger dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment and hand strength to grasp files and other objects; to perceive the attributes of objects by touch; to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with the public, staff and others on the phone and in the office. Frequently being on foot, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climb stairs and kneeling and/or crouch to retrieve files and other items. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate small power tools and other equipment. Writing to complete reports and quality requests. Occasionally lifting and carrying (with assistance) items weighing 75-150 lbs. Must be able to wear safety PPE equipment, as required. Exposure to hot and cold work environments. Noise levels may require hearing protection.
