This position enhances professional practice through developing and conducting education for nursing and other key clinical staff. Evaluates effectiveness of programs and provides guidance to staff and key leaders based on results. Facilitates assessment and identification of ongoing learning needs for staff development programs. Designs and delivers programs that support the organization’s mission, vision, values and strategic goals implemented using the organization’s framework for professional nursing practice and development and the American Nurses Association scope and standards of practice for nursing professional development. Provides leadership, positive role modeling and critical thinking skills to facilitate staff development. Serves as a liaison between all disciplines by effectively communicating, educating and problem solving.
- Compensation: $40.08-$64.13 hourly wage based on experience and education
- Retention Bonus: $15,000-$20,000 for eligible new hires

Shifts Available:Full Time: 8-hour shifts, 32 hours/week with the option to flex up to 40 hours/week
Located next to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, Denali Center is a 90-bed comprehensive short and long-term care facility offering uniquely compassionate care to our adult patient population. - Ensures seamless orientation of new and/or transferring clinical staff with oversight and influence of the orientation experience. Supports and develops staff including preceptors, new graduates and experienced nurses while acting as a role model for proficient clinical practice, patient safety and evidence-based practice. Supports an environment and infrastructure that promotes professional growth and advanced skills.
- Coordinates oversight of quality, risk management, safety and nursing standards and is a role model and resource person for providing quality patient care and maintaining clinical competency on unit/department.
- Collaborates with department leaders to provide educational opportunities that satisfy performance goals and objectives and enhance quality management activities. Explores innovation, and embraces and utilizes technology to deliver on learning needs and accomplish learning goals.
- Coordinates, supports, and facilitates continuity of care and communication between departments, institutions, and across the continuum to ensure positive outcomes of patient care services.
- Coordinates and facilitates annual competencies. Evaluates learning effectiveness using standardized outcome measurements. Utilizes performance measures and workforce needs to drive education plans and learning strategies. Maintains appropriate documentation.
- Assists in oversight of staff and workflow of patients. Facilitates interdepartmental teamwork. Assists in the oversight of resource utilization for the department, including human, financial, equipment, supply resources.
- Participates in evaluation process by giving input.
- Develops and implements strategic workforce learning and development services to support the achievement of workforce goals, quality initiatives and clinical practice. Critically assesses, plans, develops and delivers clinical curriculum, developmental programs and services. Facilitates learning utilizing multiple modalities.
- Acts as a role model of clinical practice. Establishes visibility and credibility. Leads and participates on assigned committees and teams. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job.
Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations.
Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Professional certification preferred. Previous experience in an education or leadership role preferred. Two or more years in a position with primary responsibility for design and delivery of learning programs for adult learners.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
