In this rewarding role, you'll provide personalized coaching, mentorship, and hands-on support that helps individuals build independence and reach their career goals. You'll meet people where they are—in libraries, coffee shops, schools, workplaces, and throughout the community—to teach employment readiness skills, explore career pathways, and support long-term success.
As an Employment Coach, you will:
- Partner with individuals to identify strengths, interests, and career goals through assessments and informational interviews.
- Teach employment readiness skills, including job searching, workplace expectations, communication, and professional development.
- Provide one-on-one career coaching, helping individuals build confidence and independence.
- Assist with resume writing, interview preparation, job exploration, and career planning.
- Support job shadowing experiences and connect individuals with employment opportunities.
- Provide on-site job coaching and collaborate with employers to ensure successful workplace integration.
- Develop creative strategies to strengthen executive functioning, organization, time management, and workplace success skills.
- Identify accommodations, resources, and supports that help individuals thrive in their jobs.
- Maintain accurate documentation and case records.
- Collaborate closely with the employment services team to ensure coordinated, person-centered employment plans.

Location, Schedule & Pay:
- This is a full time position and will be working out of our Fraser Bloomington office, with some remote workdays possible dependent on caseload. This position also will include regular travel to metro locations throughout the Twin Cities for job coaching, informational interviews and on-site teaching. Mileage and parking are reimbursed for travel to client meeting sites. Employment Coaches do not transport clients to and from work.
- Typical hours are 9-5:30 M-F but it varies based on client need.
- $20.00- $22.00 per hour dependent on education and experience
Requirements:
- Valid MN driver's license with acceptable record required.
- Combination of education and work experience in Special Education, Psychology, Social Services, or Human services or related.
- 1+ years of experience providing related services to individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Fluency in the English language including excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills required.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, multiculturalism and inclusion with focus on culturally responsive practice, internal self-awareness and reflection.
- Strong critical thinking, organizational and problem-solving skills.
