Posting Details
Position Summary:
- Teach a one-day Pediatric CPR course for students ages 14–16.
- Deliver instruction in accordance with the provided American Heart Association (AHA) curriculum and course guidelines.
- Demonstrate CPR techniques and supervise student skill practice.
- Ensure a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
- Maintain accurate attendance and course records as required.
- Communicate professionally with program staff before and after scheduled classes.
- Arrive prepared with a thorough understanding of the curriculum and instructional materials provided.
- Follow all organizational policies and procedures related to youth programming.
- Adhere to instructional timelines and guidelines and utilize college instructional technology.
- Use only an FCC email account when conducting College business.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Hold a current AHA Instructor certification, such as:
- Heartsaver Instructor, or
- BLS Instructor (BLS Instructors are authorized to teach all Heartsaver courses, including Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED).
- Experience teaching CPR, first aid, healthcare, emergency response, or related safety courses.
- Must be available to teach in-person classes on Saturdays.
- Must be willing and able to teach the course at least once during each academic year.
- Must maintain all required certifications throughout employment.
- Must be able to lift and transport CPR training equipment as needed.
- Ability to demonstrate and evaluate CPR skills accurately.
- Ability to pass any required background checks in accordance with organizational policies.
- Experience working with youth, teens, students, or educational programs preferred.
- Strong presentation, communication, and classroom management skills.
- AA degree or above, preferably in healthcare or allied health field.
