Our company is a leader in the pavement striping industry. An ever-growing number of government agencies and contractors have selected us to meet their pavement striping needs. In our time of growth, we are looking to add an experienced Division Manager (Pavement Marking/Road Striping) to lead one of our Florida-based divisions..
Job Summary:
The Division Manager (Pavement Marking/Road Striping) is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of a Florida-based division, overseeing daily field production across 6-8 crews to ensure pavement marking projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the company’s quality standards. This role partners closely with project management, dispatch, and estimating to translate schedules into executable work plans, allocate crews and equipment, and remove barriers to production. The Division Manager drives division-wide performance through field leadership development, clear expectations, coaching, and accountability while maintaining strict compliance with safety requirements, customer expectations, and company policies. This role also carries responsibility for divisional budgets, production targets, and overall profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own overall division performance, including budgets, production targets, cost control, and profitability; report results and forecasts to senior leadership.
- Oversee planning, scheduling, and coordination of daily/weekly production activities across 6-8 crews to meet contract requirements, production targets, and customer commitments.
- Assign crews, equipment, and materials to jobs; optimize routes and sequencing to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and control costs.
- Conduct pre-job planning (scope review, site readiness, traffic control needs, material staging, and risk assessment) to ensure safe and productive starts.
- Partner with Project Managers to track progress versus schedule/budget; identify constraints early and implement recovery plans when needed.
- Lead safety culture by enforcing PPE, traffic control standards, and safe operating procedures; conduct tailgate meetings, jobsite audits, and corrective actions.
- Monitor quality of workmanship and adherence to specifications; coordinate rework and punch-list completion to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain readiness of fleet and production equipment by coordinating preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and calibration with shop/mechanics.
- Oversee inventory and consumption of production materials (paint, beads, stencils, adhesives, and related supplies); minimize waste and ensure accurate tracking.
- Develop and coach field leaders (foremen/leads/supervisors); evaluate performance, reinforce standards, build bench strength, and support training and onboarding.
- Serve as the division’s primary operations point of contact during production hours; communicate professionally with customers, inspectors, and internal stakeholders.
- Complete and review production reporting (daily logs, quantities, labor/equipment hours, incidents, and productivity metrics) and use data to drive improvement.
- Support storm/urgent response or night/weekend work as needed to meet customer and operational demands.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in pavement marking/striping operations or related roadway construction, including multi-crew or division-level leadership responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple crews simultaneously (6-8 preferred) and coordinating complex schedules in a production environment.
- Strong working knowledge of pavement marking methods, materials, equipment, and common quality requirements.
- Solid understanding of work zone safety and traffic control practices; ability to enforce OSHA and applicable local/state requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications; comfortable with measuring, layout, and quantity tracking.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; ability to lead with clarity and accountability.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL (Class B) preferred or ability to obtain based on role requirements.
- Proficiency with mobile/field reporting tools and basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, scheduling platforms).
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks as required (including lifting up to 50 lbs).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with both long line and short line operations, including night work and high-traffic environments.
- Lean/continuous improvement mindset with experience tracking KPIs (production rates, utilization, rework, safety observations).
- Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Experience training crews and building standardized work practices.
- CDL A or B a major plus
Working Conditions:
- Primarily outdoor work in all weather conditions, with frequent exposure to traffic, heavy equipment, and construction environments.
- Work may include nights, weekends, and occasional travel based on project schedules and customer needs.
- Requires walking job sites, standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting/moving materials up to 50 lbs.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary range of $80,000–$95,000, commensurate with experience, plus a performance-based bonus.
