Laurel Business Institute is seeking an Electrical Instructor for its new diploma program offered at the Export, PA location. The position is full time, Monday-Friday 8 am-5pm. Laurel is committed to excellence in education. It is our mission to provide quality education, realistic laboratory and hands-on clinical experiences in program-related fields, including but not limited to skilled trades, medical and health care facilities, spas, and salons. Laurel offers Certificates, Diplomas, and Associate’s degrees and specializes in allied health, business and applied technology programs. The school is licensed by the state of PA, SC & WV, approved by the Department of Education, and accredited by ACCSC.

Responsibilities include but are not limited instruction of all phases of the educational program as well as instructing students in all phases and levels of Electrical Technology. The Instructor will be directly responsible for the safety of the building and act as a role model for all staff and students. A positive and professional attitude will be maintained at all times.

SUPERVISION:

Laurel seeks an experienced electrician to teach a variety of classes in the electrical trade.

Duties

Successful candidates are required to teach both lecture (theory) and lab (practical applications) classes in the following:

• Theory of Electricity
• DC Circuits Analysis
• Residential Wiring
• Commercial Wiring
• National Electrical Code
• Electrical Troubleshooting
• Solar PV Theory and Installation
• Allen Bradley PLC preferred
• Industrial electrical experience preferred.
• Automation

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a minimum of three (3) years of on-the-job experience as an electrician Required
• High school diploma, technical/trade school and/or approved apprenticeship certificate Required
• Associate Degree Preferred
• Current industry certifications
• Electrical License Required
• Must be able to demonstrate competencies in
• Skills - installing, maintaining, or repairing electrical wiring, equipment and lighting systems
• Troubleshooting electrical problems
• Following National Electric Code
• Performing a variety of commercial electrical installation, repair, upgrade, retrofit, analysis, specialty installation and maintenance operations

Must be able to travel to our Uniontown Campus as needed.
