As our engineering team continues to grow, we're seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems for commercial and industrial facilities while collaborating closely with project managers, estimators, and field operations.
Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing power, lighting, and low-voltage systems for commercial construction projects from concept through construction. This position develops complete construction documents, prepares plans and specifications, performs engineering calculations, and supports field teams throughout project execution. This is an on-site role based at our Carmel headquarters with no travel required.
The ideal candidate has experience producing permit-ready construction documents across both design-build and plan/spec (design-bid-build) projects, and is comfortable coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for commercial and industrial construction projects.
- Prepare complete construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations.
- Develop power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage system designs.
- Coordinate designs with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural disciplines.
- Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with NEC and applicable building codes.
- Participate in design reviews and provide engineering support during construction.
- Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and assist with field coordination as needed.
- Support value engineering and design-build solutions that improve constructability and project efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of electrical engineering experience in commercial or industrial construction.
- Experience preparing construction documents for both design-build and plan/spec (design-bid-build) projects.
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Required
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with a defined path to PE licensure.
