JOB SUMMARY: Under broad supervision, provide advanced‐level technical support in one or more of the following areas: OMAT, maintenance, construction, intermodal, planning, utilities, surveying, environmental or traffic.
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES: Under immediate supervision, and in a learning capacity, performs work in the maintenance of state highways and rights-of-way or in the installation of traffic control devices. Uses hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks. Operates light vehicles and equipment to perform activities. Learns to perform traffic control duties and preventive maintenance on equipment. Completes applicable paperwork. Responds to requests for emergency needs outside of normal working hours. Lifts moderately heavy objects. Climbs, stands, or walks for long periods of time in possible adverse weather conditions. Uses accurate eye-hand coordination. Employees in this position will successfully complete a job training program, Maintenance Skills Development (MSD). Committed to providing quality customer service.

- High school diploma or GED
AGENCY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Possesses a basic knowledge of maintenance and/or construction equipment
- Ability to successfully perform all the job requirements listed above
AGENCY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver’s License

Actions that may disqualify an applicant include letters of reprimand (active for 12 months after issuance date); suspension without pay or disciplinary demotion (active for 12 months from the effective date); Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) and Leave Restriction Plans (active until 12 months after the date of conclusion). In addition, an employee must have an overall ePerformance rating score of three (3) or higher on their most current evaluation. Please note that Memorandums of Concern are not considered disqualifying factors. Human Resources may remove any employee from consideration for selection who is pending a disciplinary action; however, if the action is resolved in the employee’s favor, he or she will be allowed to compete.
