- Assist with water, wastewater, soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and stormwater-related fieldwork, which may include sample collection, drilling oversight, remediation system operation and monitoring, and contractor oversight.
- Support data input, analysis, and reporting, including preparing maps, tables, figures, and associated summaries.
- Assist with engineering calculations and design support related to civil, environmental, geotechnical, water resources, and treatment system projects.
- Contribute to technical writing for reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, geologists, scientists, GIS and CADD professionals, administrative staff, contractors, and construction personnel.
- Apply strong lab, field, and safety practices developed through research, coursework, and safety training.
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
- Currently registered in a Bachelor’s or Master’s university degree program in a relevant engineering discipline. (required)
- Degree focus area in civil, geotechnical, environmental, water resources, or related engineering discipline. (required)
- Coursework in environmental chemistry, geotechnical engineering, water and wastewater treatment systems, hydraulics, and solid and hazardous waste engineering. (preferred)
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint. (preferred)
- Interest or experience in water quality testing, wastewater treatment research, environmental sampling, laboratory work, data analysis, and technical reporting. (preferred)
- Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills demonstrated through team-based design projects, academic support roles, research, or related activities. (required)
- Commitment to safe work practices; safety training related to laboratory chemical safety, biosafety, research safety, First Aid/CPR, and hazardous or biohazardous waste management is beneficial. (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory driving record for business travel to project sites. (required)
- Minimum: $22.98/hour / Maximum: $32.18/hour (San Diego, CA)
