Patient Service Representative – Registration (Day Shift)
Great Lakes Medical Imaging (GLMI)
Reports to: Registration Manager
Shift: Day Shift
Status: Non-Exempt
Pay: To determine our range, we consider as many of the following data points as are available to us: external market salary survey data, internal data in terms of comparable roles, and our budget for the position. What we have posted is our good faith estimate of what we expect to pay: $18–$23 per hour.
Position Overview
The Patient Service Representative works as a member of the Registration team, reporting to the Registration Manager. This role primarily provides registration and check-in services to GLMI patients while supporting a positive and professional patient experience throughout their visit. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced medical imaging environment.
Primary Responsibilities

Greet and identify patients and visitors upon arrival

Direct patients to complete pre-exam paperwork using company systems

Review patient charts to ensure accurate and complete documentation

Obtain additional patient information as needed

Verify and confirm insurance coverage and authorizations
-
Communicate unexpected delays and assist with patient flow
-
Maintain a neat and organized waiting area
-
Collect and document payments including copays, deductibles, and balances
-
Schedule and reschedule appointments according to practice guidelines

Perform related duties as assigned; overtime opportunities may be available as needed
Additional Responsibilities

Answer multi-line phone system and direct calls appropriately

Acquire necessary medical records via phone, fax, or in person

Route and sort documents within digital fax system

Assist patients with GLMI Patient Portal requests

Access and utilize medical systems as assigned
What We’re Looking For

Strong computer skills including information systems and Google-based programs

Excellent verbal communication skills (in person and phone)

Experience in radiology or medical terminology preferred

Ability to perform duties listed above with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Prior administrative or medical office experience preferred
