Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and aligning individual goals with departmental goals and company objectives.
- Establish and oversee projects related to sourcing needs as directed or in support of strategic initiatives, new product development, inventory control, and cost reductions.
- Establish procedures to accomplish sourcing a variety of materials in a cost-effective manner with an emphasis on risk mitigation utilizing tools including but not limited to dual sourcing, kanban, consignment, online auctions, etc.
- Monitor, analyze, and communicate to stakeholders the latest economic, industrial, and other trends that affect markets, prices, and delivery conditions to support present and future material availability.
- Lead and/or direct commodity managers and buyers in support of contract negotiations and vendor selection in collaboration with all stakeholders including engineering and product management.
- Monitor performance and capabilities of vendors to ensure maintenance of delivery, quality, and price commitments producing a monthly scorecard for leadership.
- Build a culture of accountability and engagement by modeling company values, reinforcing performance standards, and recognizing results.
- Lead compliant procurement processes in accordance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures including quality procedures and standards.
- Drive cost reduction, lead-time reduction, and supplier performance improvements.
- Drive improvements in transactional and inventory accuracy to support operating at optimal levels of inventory and working capital.
- Support the organization in all negotiations related to 3rd party sourcing and purchasing.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education/Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree required.
